In his speech, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu said: “Vietnam is entering a new era, the era of the nation's rise. With sustainable economic growth, a young, energetic population, and a spirit of continuous innovation, the aspiration to successfully build a socialist Vietnam, with a prosperous society, strong nation, and a democratic, just, and civilized society, is gradually becoming a reality. In this journey, Vietnam has always received the companionship and support of international friends, with Japan playing a very important role”.

At the ceremony, representatives from political parties, government ministries, agencies, and local authorities in Japan expressed admiration for Vietnam’s strong development, and expressed a desire to continue strengthening all-round relations with Vietnam in the future.
“In 2023, the two countries celebrated 50 years of establishing diplomatic relations, with an important milestone being the elevation of Vietnam-Japan relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World. This will certainly lead to a strong promotion of bilateral relations in politics, economics, security, culture, and other areas. Personally, in April this year, when I was still the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, I visited Vietnam and exchanged a Memorandum of Cooperation with Minister of Transport of Vietnam Nguyen Van Thang. At that time, I witnessed firsthand the growth of Vietnam, the efforts of the Vietnamese people, and Vietnam’s remarkable development. I express my admiration for what Vietnam has achieved,” said Mr. Saito Tetsuo, President of the Komeito Party in the current ruling coalition of Japan.
