Vietnamese Culture Shines at Ikebana International Fair 2024
Tokyo, December 10, 2024 — The Ikebana International Fair 2024, held at the Royal Park Hotel, became a vibrant platform for cultural exchange as the Vietnamese Embassy introduced the richness of Vietnamese culture to flower lovers in Japan and around the world. This Fair was another activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations, deepening the bond between the two nations.
Vietnamese Traditions Take Center Stage
In a special highlight of the fair, the Vietnamese Embassy presented a mesmerizing showcase of traditional dances and musical performances. Each act brought Vietnam’s unique heritage to life, captivating the audience with its beauty and storytelling. Performances included Harvest Season Dance (Múa: Ngày Mùa), Đàn Bầu Performance: Lý Ngựa Ô, The Lovely Bamboo Dance (Múa: Cây Trúc Xinh), Đàn T’rưng Performance: Melody of T’rưng Stream. The grand finale celebrated Vietnam’s country’s rich cultural heritage, picturesque landscapes, and warm hospitality. Set to the song Hello Vietnam, this dance invited the world to explore the country's vibrant traditions and charm.
A Celebration of Culture Amidst Flowers
The Vietnamese cultural performances stood out as a unique addition to the Ikebana International Fair, a renowned event dedicated to the Japanese art of flower arrangement. While the fair celebrated the beauty of floral masterpieces from 30 Ikebana schools, the presence of Vietnamese art and music added a fresh dimension, illustrating how flowers and culture transcend borders to foster unity and understanding.
Sharing Vietnamese Charm with the World
At the Fair, the Vietnamese Embassy displayed an authentic Vietnamese identity 10-meter-long booth. The booth featured distinctive and unique Vietnamese products such as cinnamon, star anise, pepper, soursop tea, exquisite handicrafts, pearls, and elegant traditional ao dai. The booth attracted enthusiastic attention from Japanese and international visitors.
As part of the festivities, The Embassy also brought an exciting opportunity to visitors: a special prize of round-trip tickets to Vietnam. This prize aimed to inspire the winner to explore Vietnam's breathtaking landscapes, rich traditions, and warm hospitality. "We are proud to share the essence of Vietnam with our friends in Japan and the world, bringing our heritage to this prestigious stage," said Madam Thai Thu Hong, spouse of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan.
