President of the Republic of Marshall Islands Hilda Heine visits the Embassy of Viet Nam in Japan 

On July 18, President Hilda Heine visited the Embassy of Viet Nam in Japan on the occasion of the President's attendance at the Pacific Island Leader's Meeting (July 16 - 18, 2024). Attending with President Hilda C Hiene were Foreign Minister Kalani Kaneko and  Ambassador B Alexander Bing.

During his meeting with the President, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu expressed his honor to welcome the President and the Foreign Minister at the Embassy of Viet Nam in Japan; congratulated the President and his delegation on the successful visit to Japan, notably the success of the 10th PALM Summit and the signing between Japan and Marshall Island on  the "Amata Kabua International Airport Terminal Reconstruction Project" and "Economic and Social Development Program" on the sidelines of the summit. The Ambassador hopes that the development of the international airport passenger terminal will be an important infrastructure development step to attract more tourism and investment to Marshall Island in the near future. On this occasion, the Ambassador also expressed his appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Marshall Government for arranging the Ambassador's recent working visit to Marshall.

As for President Hilda Heine, she expressed her appreciation to the Ambassador for his warm welcome at the Embassy and  her pleasure to see Ambassador again. She noted that Viet Nam is one of the major exporting countries in Southeast Asia. Thus, hoping that the two countries will strengthen the cooperation in areas of mutual concern such as economy, fisheries, argiculture, tourism, global environmental protection, preventing climate warming, causing rising seas, threatening survival of many countries in the world. She also expressed her hope that the Vietnamese Government and Vietnamese experts will support Marhsall Islands such as sending expert delegations to share experiences in areas where Marshall is still limited such as agricultural development, health care, tourism...
