Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu Receives Tay Ninh Chairman Le Van Han and Attends the Province’s Investment Promotion Conference in Japan

On October 21, 2026, in Tokyo, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu received Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Tay Ninh Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, together with a provincial delegation. The Ambassador also attended and delivered remarks at the Tay Ninh Investment Promotion Conference in Japan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu welcomed the delegation and commended Tay Ninh’s continued efforts to promote cooperation with Japanese local governments, organizations and businesses. He noted that, following its merger, Tay Ninh has an expanded development base and a strategic location connecting Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong Delta, Cambodia and mainland ASEAN countries. The province also benefits from a well-developed network of industrial parks and clusters, an abundant workforce and a dynamic investment environment.

The Ambassador welcomed the increasingly substantive cooperation between Tay Ninh and Japan. Japan currently has 177 investment projects in the province, with total registered capital exceeding US$1.4 billion, spanning manufacturing, electronic components, agricultural processing and other industries. Tay Ninh has also established partnerships with several Japanese localities, including Hyogo, Ibaraki, Wakayama, Kanagawa and Yamanashi prefectures, as well as Okayama City, providing a favorable foundation for expanding economic cooperation, human resource development and people-to-people exchanges.

At the investment promotion conference, Chairman Le Van Han presented Tay Ninh’s potential, advantages, investment environment and development priorities, affirming that Japan is an important, trusted and long-term partner of the province. Tay Ninh seeks to attract more Japanese projects in high-tech and supporting industries, logistics, higher-value agricultural processing, the green transition and other high-value-added sectors.

Addressing the conference, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu affirmed that the Viet Nam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership provides a favorable foundation for local governments and businesses in both countries to expand cooperation. He proposed three priorities: developing industrial production linked to Japanese companies’ supply chains; capitalizing on Tay Ninh’s gateway location to develop logistics and strengthen connections with regional markets; and increasing the value of agricultural products through technology adoption, advanced processing, traceability and links with Japanese distribution networks.

The Ambassador emphasized that the Embassy of Viet Nam in Japan would continue to support Tay Ninh by providing information, facilitating partnerships, promoting exploratory visits and assisting with concrete cooperation proposals. He also encouraged Japanese businesses to visit Tay Ninh to explore its investment environment and expand their production and business operations.

As part of the investment promotion program in Japan, Tay Ninh agencies and businesses signed a number of cooperation agreements with Japanese partners in investment promotion, trade, agriculture and manufacturing, laying the groundwork for practical projects and cooperation programs in the coming period.
