Vietnamese Embassy in Japan launches campaign to support compatriots hard hit by natural disasters in the country
On the afternoon of November 25, in Tokyo, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan held a fundraising campaign to support compatriots hard hit by floods in the Central and Central Highlands regions in the Vietnamese community in Japan.
At the ceremony, attendees observed a minute of silence for the victims of natural disasters in Vietnam. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Sau - Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan - gave an overview of the serious damage caused by natural disasters in many localities in the country in recent times, and called on the Vietnamese community to join hands to support the victims to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Minister Nguyen Sau spoke at the ceremony.
Minister Nguyen Sau emphasized: “More than ever, the people of the Central and Central Highlands regions are in dire need of the loving arms, timely support and encouragement of our compatriots nationwide and overseas Vietnamese. We earnestly call on our compatriots to promote the tradition of kindness, to share and support our compatriots in flood-hard hit areas to overcome this difficult time. Currently, some leaders of associations such as the Vietnam - Japan International Exchange Association, the Union of Associations, etc. are carrying out very practical relief activities. Every heart and sharing, no matter how small, is extremely precious. Every contribution, no matter how small, contributes to helping our compatriots gain more confidence, motivation and conditions to stand up after storms and floods”. Recently, the Vietnamese community in Japan has regularly organized volunteer activities to support compatriots hard hit by natural disasters in the country. On October 2, under the chairmanship of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Vietnam Association in Japan and community associations also coordinated to organize a fundraising event to support compatriots hard hit by storm No. 10.

The donations will be transferred to the country as soon as possible.
In addition, Japanese agencies, businesses and localities have also performed many noble acts. Most recently, on October 17, Mr. Watanabe Hiroyuki - Chairman of the Aeon 1% Club Fund - visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in Tokyo to present cash support equivalent to 50,000 USD from Aeon Group.
Although these contributions cannot compensate for all the huge losses suffered by people in the disaster-stricken areas, they are a vivid expression of the hearts of those far from their homeland, as well as the affection of Japanese friends for Vietnam.
