Vietnamese community in Japan supports compatriots in the country affected by storm No. 10
VOV.VN - On the afternoon of October 2, in Tokyo, under the chairmanship of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Vietnam Association in Japan and community associations coordinated to organize a fundraising ceremony to support compatriots affected by storm No. 10.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Association in Japan Pham Dinh Thuong briefly reported on the damage caused by natural disasters, emphasizing that recently, storms No. 8, 9 and No. 10 have occurred consecutively. In particular, storm No. 10 (storm Bualoi) and the floods after the storm caused very heavy damage to people, property, and infrastructure in the Northern and North Central regions, with thousands of houses destroyed, many families lost loved ones, many people lost property and livelihoods, and people's lives are facing many difficulties.

With the fine tradition of the nation, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and community associations call for the joint efforts of the entire Vietnamese community in Japan to help people in the country overcome the consequences of natural disasters. Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu emphasized: “Today’s ceremony has a symbolic meaning, aiming to spread humanistic values and call for the cooperation and contributions of the Vietnamese community in Japan. Through associations, we can continue to spread that spirit. Although each contribution is not large in material terms, it has great spiritual value, especially at this time. I hope that everyone will respond and send back to their homeland their hearts with the spirit of ‘a piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full’”.
Delegates attending the fundraising launch ceremony
Immediately after the launching ceremony, the representatives attending the ceremony made a symbolic donation. The Federation of Vietnamese Associations in Japan said that after collecting all contributions from all associations, businesses, and individuals across Japan, it will urgently send them back to the country, in order to promptly share the difficulties with compatriots who are suffering serious damage caused by natural disasters, in the spirit of "helping each other", mutual love.
