Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of Vietnam's National Day in Japan
Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu affirmed that in its development journey, Vietnam has always had the companionship and support of international friends, in which Japan plays a particularly important role.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu delivered the opening speech
On the evening of September 11, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The ceremony was attended by Chairman of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Japan Tamura Tomoko, Vice President of the House of Councilors Fukuyama Tetsuro, Deputy Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ikuina Akiko and about 500 guests representing the Government, agencies, businesses, Japanese media, foreign diplomatic agencies in Japan and Japanese people who love Vietnam.
In his opening speech, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu recalled the important historical milestone of 80 years ago, on September 2, 1945, President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and today the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu emphasized: "Vietnam is entering a new era. With strong development, young population, creative spirit and the aspiration to build a prosperous, prosperous Vietnam, a democratic and civilized society is gradually becoming a reality."
Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu affirmed that in the development journey, Vietnam always has the companionship and support of international friends, in which Japan plays a particularly important role.
The Ambassador said: “If the story of Vietnam is a story of resilience, it is also a story of friendship. Over the past 50 years, since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Vietnam-Japan relationship has continuously developed strongly, deeply and effectively in many fields."
Vice President of the Senate Fukuyama Tetsuro spoke at the ceremony.
Vice President of the Senate Fukuyama Tetsuro said that on the basis of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the two countries have strengthened their relations as partners in the region as well as strengthened bilateral coordination in many fields for peace in Asia and prosperity in the world. The bilateral relationship has been strengthened through people-to-people exchanges at many levels. Mr. Tetsuro affirmed that the foundation of this friendly relationship is mutual trust between the two countries.
At the ceremony, a special cultural program was held, introducing to international friends a unique beauty of Vietnamese culture. This important diplomatic event is considered to contribute to beautifying the image of Vietnam in the eyes of Japanese and international friends.
