Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan meets and encourages Vietnamese students competing in AIMO 2025

 

On the afternoon of August 3 in Tokyo (Japan), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan - Mr. Pham Quang Hieu received and encouraged the Vietnamese student delegation participating in the Final Round of the Asian Mathematics Competition - AIMO 2025.

On the same morning, 22 outstanding students from many provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri ... officially entered the international round of AIMO 2025 at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, along with more than 3,500 candidates from 21 countries and territories in Asia.

Immediately after the exam, the student delegation and the Organizing Committee were received by Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Tokyo. The meeting took place in a solemn, warm and emotional atmosphere.

Mr. Bui Van Phuong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tien Phong Joint Stock Company, Head of AIMO Vietnam 2025 Delegation - presented Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu with a special edition of Tien Phong Newspaper commemorating the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu highly appreciated the efforts of Tien Phong Joint Stock Company, Tien Phong Newspaper, parents and students in the journey to conquer the international intellectual arena. He emphasized the important role of Mathematics - a fundamental subject that opens up many opportunities for the future of the young generation, and expressed his hope that through playgrounds like AIMO, Vietnam will seek and nurture more mathematical talents, who will not only contribute to building the country but also become a bridge to promote Vietnam - Japan relations in the fields of science, education and technology.

Speaking at the reception, Mr. Bui Van Phuong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tien Phong Joint Stock Company, Head of the AIMO Vietnam 2025 Delegation - expressed his deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan for the warm welcome, and reported on the organization of the exam in Vietnam as well as the encouraging initial results of the Vietnamese student delegation.

Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu spoke and encouraged the Vietnamese student delegation to attend the AIMO 2025 Final Round at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.

The meeting was not only a timely spiritual encouragement but also aroused national pride in each student. Standing in front of the red flag with a yellow star in the Embassy campus, listening to the words of encouragement from the Ambassador, the students all deeply felt that: no matter where they are, the Vietnamese people always have the presence, care and companionship of the Fatherland.

The Vietnamese student delegation participating in AIMO 2025 are all excellent candidates, selected through a national exam organized by Tien Phong Joint Stock Company and Hoa Hoc Tro publication since May 2025, under the direction and media sponsorship of Tien Phong Newspaper and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund. This is the third year that Vietnam has participated in the international AIMO with an increasingly systematic and high-quality organization.

According to the preliminary assessment from the Organizing Committee, most of the Vietnamese candidates have completed the exam well and are expected to achieve many outstanding achievements in the award ceremony, scheduled to take place on August 5 in Tokyo.
