On March 31, 2025, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu welcomed a working delegation from the Long An Provincial People's Committee, led by Chairman Nguyen Van Ut, during their visit to Japan.
During the meeting, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu expressed his appreciation for Long An Province's continued interest in fostering cooperation with Japan. He highlighted the province’s effective exchanges and collaborations with various Japanese localities, including Komaki City (Aichi Prefecture), Wakayama, Hyogo, Kanagawa, Ibaraki, and Oita. The Ambassador affirmed that there is still significant potential for cooperation between Long An and Japanese partners. He emphasized that the province’s frequent delegation exchanges are a practical way to maintain and strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation. He also assured that the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan will continue to serve as a bridge to support Long An in further enhancing its collaboration with Japan across all fields.
Chairman Nguyen Van Ut shared insights into Long An's socio-economic situation and its cooperative efforts with Japan. He emphasized the province's commitment to fostering partnerships with Japanese counterparts in investment, trade, education, human resource cooperation, healthcare, agriculture, and cultural exchanges. He also affirmed that Japan remains one of Long An's most important economic partners, with 161 FDI projects totaling over $1.2 billion, ranking fourth in both project count and investment capital among all foreign investors in the province. With its strategic location in the Southern Key Economic Region, increasingly modern infrastructure, and dynamic investment environment, Long An continues to implement favorable policies to attract foreign investors, particularly those from Japan.
On the same day, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Long An Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam-Japan Economic Promotion Association jointly organized the "Long An - Japan Trade and Investment Promotion Program 2025."
