Japan's Constitutional Democratic Party Sends Congratulatory Letter to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam
Although Japan has many political parties with diverse political tendencies and viewpoints, they share a common point: valuing relations with Vietnam, as well as the role and position of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The 14th National Congress of the Party is an opportunity for Japanese political parties to once again express this sentiment. Ahead of the Congress, one of Japan's largest political parties sent a congratulatory letter to this important event in Vietnam.
In a letter dated January 13, 2026, addressed to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Japanese Prime Minister Noda Yoshihiko – Chairman of the Constitutional Democratic Party (CDP) – Japan's largest opposition party, wrote, “On the occasion of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, we send our warmest congratulations from the bottom of our hearts.”
Mr. Noda also firmly believes that the Congress will become a solid foundation for the development of Vietnam and its people, based on summarizing 40 years of the Doi Moi (Renovation) process, 35 years of implementing the National Construction Program, 5 years of implementing the resolutions of the 13th National Congress, and determining the direction and tasks for the 5 years from 2026 to 2030 and the vision to 2045.
According to Chairman Noda, through the exchange and cooperation activities under the Memorandum of Understanding between the Constitutional Democratic Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, mutual understanding and trust between the two parties are becoming increasingly profound. In the context of the current volatile international situation, the Constitutional Democratic Party wishes to continue developing its relationship with the Communist Party of Vietnam, aiming for peace and prosperity in the region.
In conclusion, former Prime Minister Noda wished the Congress great success and wished the Vietnamese people continued success in their national development.
