From June 26-27, Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu paid a working visit to Ehime Prefecture.

During his visit, the Ambassador Designate had meetings with Governor Nakamura Tokihiro, Chairman of the Provincial Council Takayama Yasuhito. He also participated in and delivered his speech at the seminar on investment promotion of Ben Tre Prefecture and worked with Ehime University and Takuto Noda Company.

Governor Nakamura welcomed Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu's visit to Ehime Prefecture soon after taking office as the Ambassador of Viet Nam to Japan. He affirmed the importance of and desire to promote cooperation relations with Vietnam in all fields, including cooperation with localities of Vietnam, such as Dong Nai and Ben Tre provinces, investment cooperation, agriculture - forestry - fishery processing, environmental protection, climate change response, waste treatment, human resource development, promotion of cultural and people-to-people exchanges.He confirmed the opening of Vietjet Air's flight to Ehime Prefecture will contribute to further develop relations between Ehime and Viet Nam. Chairman of the Provincial Council Takayama expressed his willingness to support the policy of the Prefectural Government and pledged to promote Ehime prefecture businesses’ cooperation with Viet Nam in various fields.

Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu expressed his appreciation to Governor Nakamura for actively promoting cooperation and relationship with Vietnam in general and with Ben Tre province in particular, especially 2023 marks the 50th anniversary of Viet Nam- Japan diplomatic relations. He hoped that Governor Nakamura will strengthen relations with Vietnam in the spirit of the agreements and commitments between the two countries' leaders, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese workers in Ehime Prefecture, as well as organize cultural exchange activities with Viet Nam.

At the seminar on investment promotion to Ben Tre Prefecture, Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ben Tre Tran Ngoc Tam, Deputy Governor Tanaka and other delegates hope Japan will increase investment to Viet Nam in the upcoming years. Imports to Vietnam will increase strongly in the coming time. They highly appreciate the efforts of the Vietnamese Government in improving the business investment environment in Viet Nam and commits to closely coordinate and accompany localities and businesses of the two countries to promote cooperation in the coming time.

At his meeting with Ehime University and Takuto Noda Company, Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu requested the Japanese side to continue creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese students and workers; actively make proposals to the Japanese Government to increase the provision of scholarships to students as well as to improve mechanisms and policies related to foreign workers, including for Vietnamese and strengthen cooperation in training, joint research, expand investment and receive Vietnamese workers in the coming time.
