In the atmosphere of welcoming the traditional Lunar New Year, celebrating the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and upholding the tradition of “drinking water, remembering the source,” on February 7th in Tokyo, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, in coordination with Vietnamese associations, organized the Vietnamese Community Tet Celebration “Spring in the Homeland 2026” with the theme “Vietnam's Aspiration: Peace and Prosperity”. The theme reflects the spirit of striving, the aspiration for sustainable development and integration of the country, uniting the Vietnamese community in Japan towards their homeland.

Despite the cold, snowy weather, the program still attracted more than 800 overseas Vietnamese and Japanese friends, becoming a familiar gathering place that warms the hearts of the community every time Tet and Spring arrive.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu reviewed the country's outstanding achievements over the past year, particularly the success of the 14th Party Congress and administrative reforms, while emphasizing the strong development of Vietnam-Japan relations, especially in the fields of science, technology, and innovation. The Ambassador acknowledged the positive role of the approximately 700,000 Vietnamese people in Japan in contributing to the country and bilateral relations, as well as their solidarity in supporting their homeland during Vietnam's natural disasters in 2025.

On this occasion, the Embassy awarded commendations to collectives and individuals who made outstanding contributions to community work and the program. The “Spring in the Homeland 2026” event, with its cultural performances, calligraphy, and traditional cuisine, created a warm atmosphere, helping to alleviate the homesickness of those living abroad.
