Vietnamese community radiant and proud during Independence Day in Japan

In harmony with the vibrant rhythm of compatriots in the country, today (September 2), the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 for the Vietnamese community in Japan.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan - Mr. Pham Quang Hieu highlighted the glorious milestones in the heroic history of the Vietnamese people, and emphasized the significance of the activities to celebrate the August Revolution and National Day on September 2. Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu said: “Today’s 80th National Day anniversary is an opportunity for each of us to express our boundless gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh, along with the heroic martyrs, and generations of fathers and brothers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation.

This is also an opportunity for those who are far from their homeland to be more proud, attached, united, and contribute to building their homeland and country, as well as promoting the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan to become increasingly strong and developed”.

Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu spoke at the ceremony

Coming to the celebration at the Embassy, representatives of the community of more than 600,000 Vietnamese people in Japan brought with them a sense of pride and excitement, spreading positive energy, demonstrating their determination to continue to rise up in life.

Vice President of the Union of Vietnamese Associations in Japan Pham Dinh Thuong said: “Our Vietnamese community is growing stronger and stronger, supporting each other in life, study and starting a business abroad. We are proud that every National Day, every New Year, Spring, and major national holidays, the red flag with yellow star flies in foreign lands.”

Although living far from home, each person in the Vietnamese community in Japan always turns towards their homeland, especially at the moment when the whole of Vietnam is looking towards the Great Festival in Hanoi - the heart of the Fatherland.

Nguyen Thi Hong Uyen - a young party member working in Tokyo shared: "Right now, we are all looking towards the historic Ba Dinh Square. Just thinking about the image of the strong and majestic ranks of soldiers, I believe that we will all feel the sacredness, heroism and national pride. This is not only a solemn ceremony, but also the most vivid proof of a rising Vietnam, a resilient and indomitable nation".

In addition to the Commemoration Ceremony, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan also organized many meaningful activities such as offering incense at the Ho Chi Minh Shrine and some cultural and sports activities to celebrate. Before that, there was also the "I love Vietnam" parade held at Ueno Park - a central park in Tokyo on August 31. All of these activities also contributed to beautifying the image of Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.
