Vietnam - Japan Love Without Borders: Evidence of the close relationship between the two nations
On October 12, under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Vietnam Business Association in Japan (VJBA) organized for the first time a special event for Vietnamese - Japanese couples called "Love Without Borders".
Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu and his wife congratulated the winning couples in the photo contest "Holding hands and traveling around the world".
The event took place in Yokohama city, Kanagawa prefecture, with the direct participation of about 100 multicultural married couples to honor the power of love, family happiness and contribute to connecting the two countries' communities.
According to a VNA reporter in Tokyo, the event "Love Without Borders" was organized for Vietnamese - Japanese couples who are in love or married and living long-term in Japan. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Tong Kim Giao - President of VJBA, Head of the Organizing Committee - said that the program is not just a simple art activity but a meaningful community cultural event, where good values are spread, honoring beautiful love and marriage stories, the silent contributions of overseas Vietnamese and Japanese friends to the understanding and friendship between the two countries.
Ms. Tong Thi Kim Giao - President of VJBA, representative of the Organizing Committee shared the reason for organizing the program.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu highly appreciated the idea of organizing the program of the Organizing Committee and emphasized that the Vietnamese - Japanese couples present at this first event are a living proof of the increasingly strong connection between the two countries and two peoples. The event not only contributes to honoring love but also carries profound cultural and social values, inspires positive living, respects the values of love and family, thereby contributing to building a more united, compassionate and close-knit Vietnamese - Japanese community, and at the same time opens up new connections in the fields of economy, tourism, services and people-to-people exchange between the two countries.
At the event, many joyful activities such as the candlelight procession to light the fire of love, announcing the results of the photo exhibition "Holding hands and traveling around the world", announcing the campaign "100 wishes from Japan - Vietnam", the ceremony to honor "Love across borders", special music and art performances, fashion show "Vietnam - Japan wedding costumes" ... were held, bringing a warm and emotional atmosphere.
The organizing committee awarded many meaningful prizes such as the Special Prize for the family with the most impressive photo collection expressing the traditional spirit and culture of Japan - Vietnam; The Japan-Vietnam Love Ambassador Award honors the couple who best demonstrates the spirit of connection between the two cultures; The Happiest Family Award recognizes the love and strong bond between family members; The Inspiration Award is for the couple who overcomes difficulties and incurable diseases but still loves and accompanies each other; The Resilient Flame Award is for the couple who overcomes family prejudices...
Sharing with a VNA reporter in Japan, Ms. Sato Kotone said that she felt destined for Vietnam when she studied abroad in Vietnam, after returning to work at a Vietnamese restaurant and then met and fell in love with a Vietnamese man, who is now her husband. She shared that family life is not without difficulties, but because she knows Vietnamese and her husband knows Japanese, the two sides can easily sympathize with each other. She and her husband determined that the road ahead is still long, so they will work together to build their family.
A family attending the event shares about their happy life in Japan. Okabe Yuki, who lives in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, also shared that since marrying a Vietnamese woman last September, family life has always been full of laughter, especially when there was a new child. The couple comes from two different cultures, so they inevitably face difficulties in life, but they always tell themselves that they will overcome them together. Small daily actions such as taking care of the children, cleaning the house, or cooking together... help their family bond grow stronger.
With the success of the event from the first time it was held, the Organizing Committee plans to turn this activity into an annual cultural exchange program on a national scale to widely spread the spirit of "Love without borders" to more and more people. Each Vietnamese-Japanese love story will be a small brick contributing to building a strong friendship between the two peoples.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also raised donations to support people in the country who suffered damage due to recent severe storms and floods.
