Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu Attends and Addresses Gia Lai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Conference in Japan

On October 21, 2026, in Tokyo, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu attended and delivered remarks at the 2026 Gia Lai Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Conference in Japan. Organized by the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee with support from the Embassy of Viet Nam in Japan and the Vietnamese Startup Entrepreneurs Association in Japan (E-Future), the conference showcased the province’s potential, strengths, investment environment and opportunities for cooperation with Japanese local governments, organizations and businesses.

Participants included Nguyen Tuan Thanh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee; Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu; Kuroiwa Yuji, Governor of Kanagawa Prefecture; Nakayama Yasuhide, a member of Japan’s House of Representatives; and representatives of Gia Lai’s departments and agencies, organizations, associations and numerous businesses from both countries. At the conference, Gia Lai presented five priority areas for investment: processing, manufacturing and supporting industries; renewable energy and artificial intelligence applications; high-tech agriculture linked to advanced processing; interregional logistics connecting border gates with seaports; and ecotourism, resort tourism, cultural tourism and modern, smart urban development.

In his remarks, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu affirmed that the Viet Nam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is developing strongly, creating favorable conditions for deeper cooperation between local governments and business communities in both countries. With its potential, comparative advantages and new development priorities, Gia Lai has significant opportunities to attract Japanese investment, strengthen production capacity and participate more deeply in the value chains of Japanese enterprises.

The Ambassador proposed three priorities for cooperation between Gia Lai and Japanese partners: promoting investment partnerships that strengthen production capacity and develop supply chains; linking trade cooperation with improvements in product quality and value; and advancing tourism, cultural and people-to-people exchanges. He affirmed that the Embassy of Viet Nam in Japan would continue to support Gia Lai and the business communities of both countries by facilitating business connections, providing information and promoting concrete cooperation proposals and projects, helping translate potential into tangible outcomes that benefit both sides.
