Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu Meets Acting Secretary-General and International Bureau Director of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party

On September 30, 2026, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu met and exchanged views with House of Representatives member Hagiuda Koichi, Acting Secretary-General of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), and House of Representatives member Kono Taro, Director of the LDP International Bureau.

At the meeting, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu affirmed that Viet Nam has always attached great importance to its relations with Japan and highly appreciated the role and contributions of the LDP in promoting friendship and cooperation between the two countries over the years. He expressed his wish to continue working closely with the LDP leadership and relevant party bodies to effectively implement the agreements and common understandings reached by the senior leaders of the two countries.

 The two sides highly valued the positive and substantive development of the Viet Nam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in recent years and exchanged views on measures to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in politics, economy, investment, science and technology, human resources and people-to-people exchanges. They agreed to maintain regular exchanges and close coordination, contributing to deepening and enhancing the effectiveness of Viet Nam–Japan relations as well as relations between the Communist Party of Viet Nam and the LDP.
