“Vietnam – Gunma Economic Cooperation Seminar: Promoting Public-Private Cooperation in Digital Transformation”

          On the afternoon of July 23 in Tokyo, the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan co-organized the “Vietnam – Gunma Economic Cooperation Seminar: Promoting Public-Private Cooperation in Digital Transformation,” attracting approximately 100 delegates representing government authorities, businesses, associations, and media outlets from both countries. This practical economic diplomacy initiative aimed to implement Vietnam’s policies regarding the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation, as well as the attraction of high-quality foreign investment. The seminar focused on fostering public-private cooperation and strengthening linkages among the government, businesses, and educational institutions in areas such as digital workforce development, technology transfer, and innovation.

          Speaking at the event, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu emphasized that digital transformation, science-technology, and innovation serve as new growth drivers for both Vietnam and Japan. He proposed strengthening cooperation across three pillars: digital workforce development, capacity building for implementation, and in-depth technological collaboration. Gunma Prefecture Governor Yamamoto Ichita affirmed the importance placed on relations with Vietnam, noting that Gunma-based enterprises have invested approximately 10 billion JPY in Vietnam, while FPT and other Vietnamese companies are expanding their investments in Gunma. The seminar helped strengthen connections among the Embassy, ​​the Gunma prefectural government, universities, and businesses from both nations; it also featured the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Gunma Industrial Support Organization, FPT University, and FPT Japan Holdings, establishing a foundation for long-term cooperation in digital transformation./.
