Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu Meets with LDP Secretary-General Suzuki Shunichi and the Liberal Democratic Party Leadership

On 9 July 2026, Ambassador of Viet Nam to Japan Pham Quang Hieu paid a courtesy call on Mr. Suzuki Shunichi, Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), and held a working meeting with the LDP leadership at the Party Headquarters.

During the meeting, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu briefed the LDP leadership on the recent development of Viet Nam–Japan relations and exchanged views on key priorities for further advancing bilateral cooperation. The discussions focused on strengthening political trust, enhancing exchanges between the ruling parties, expanding cooperation in such areas as economy, investment, science and technology, digital transformation, green transformation, defence and security, and people-to-people exchanges, while making full use of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World.

Mr. Suzuki Shunichi and the LDP leadership expressed their satisfaction with the remarkable and substantive progress in Viet Nam–Japan relations in recent years. They reaffirmed their commitment to further promoting exchanges and cooperation between the two ruling parties, thereby strengthening political trust, deepening the bilateral relationship, and bringing tangible benefits to the peoples of both countries.
