Launching the 2026 Japanese Law Knowledge Contest for the Vietnamese Community

          On the afternoon of June 17th, a ceremony was held in Tokyo to launch the 2026 Japanese law knowledge contest for the Vietnamese community in Japan. The contest is co-organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and in coordination with Japanese agencies. Approximately 150 delegates attended the event, including representatives from the Immigration and Residence Management Agency, the National Police Agency, the Ministry of Justice of Japan, the Tokyo Police, as well as representatives from various agencies, associations, trade unions, and the Vietnamese community.

      Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vu Chien Thang sent a letter highly appreciating the significance of the activity. Speaking at the ceremony, Counselor Nguyen Sau stated that nearly 700,000 Vietnamese people are currently living, studying, and working in Japan; the majority abide by the law, integrate into society, and make positive contributions to the host country. He emphasized that disseminating legal knowledge plays a crucial role in achieving the goal of eliminating law violations by Vietnamese people in Japan, and that the competition is a practical measure in this regard.

       The Japanese side also highly appreciated this initiative, considering it an activity that contributes to building a law-abiding, friendly, and integrated Vietnamese community. Mr. Urakawa Yushi, representing the Tokyo Police, stated that this is the third time the competition has been held, attracting a large number of participants and receiving much positive feedback; he also stressed the significance of the competition in the context of Japan's efforts to build a safe and friendly living environment for foreigners, including the Vietnamese community.
