VIETNAM FESTIVAL IN JAPAN 2026

The Vietnam Festival in Japan 2026 will take place over two days, May 30-31, 2026, at Yoyogi Park, Tokyo. The opening ceremony will be held at 11:00 AM on May 30, 2026. The event is co-organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.

Now in its 19th year since its inception (2008), this is the 18th edition of the Festival – the largest-scale Vietnamese cultural exchange event in Japan, expected to attract approximately 200,000 visitors.

The festival will bring together renowned Vietnamese artists from Vietnam such as Erik and Ngo Lan Huong, Vietnamese artists in Japan, and the Thang Long Puppet Theatre (Hanoi) with their unique water puppet performances. The program contributes to promoting exchanges in many fields such as culture, economics, tourism, and human resources.

The Vietnamese food court at the festival will showcase typical traditional dishes such as pho, banh mi, and nem, offering a rich culinary experience for Japanese and international audiences. This year, the Organizing Committee is promoting the application of technology in operations, including online payment and information dissemination through social media, to enhance the quality of the experience and promote the image of Vietnam.

The Head of the Organizing Committee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, said: “The Vietnam Festival in Japan is not only a cultural bridge between the two countries but also a space for multi-field exchange, contributing to strengthening understanding, cooperation, and friendship between Vietnam and Japan. We expect the 2026 event to continue to bring authentic and vivid experiences of Vietnam and its people to our Japanese and international friends.”

The Vietnam Festival at Yoyogi Park has become an indispensable cultural meeting point, an attractive brand, and a highly anticipated event not only for Tokyo but also for many other parts of Japan, as well as international tourists and the Vietnamese community in Japan.
