Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Program with the Kamakura Ikebana Association (April 16, 2026)

On April 16, 2026, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the Embassy, in coordination with the Kamakura branch of the Ikebana Association, organized a Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange program with the participation of nearly 60 Japanese guests who love Vietnam and its people. The program took place in a friendly, warm atmosphere, rich in the cultural identity of both countries. This is a practical activity aimed at further promoting the image of Vietnam, introducing the unique features of Vietnamese culture, tourism, and cuisine to Japanese friends, while strengthening people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding between the two nations. At the event, guests heard presentations about the country, people, culture, and tourism potential of Vietnam. A special highlight of the program was the sharing by the Ambassador's wife about the Vietnamese tradition of loving flowers – a beautiful cultural aspect closely linked to the spiritual life, art, and soul of the nation. Through a graceful and expressive lotus dance performance, the lotus flower – a symbol of purity and nobility – was honored as the national flower of Vietnam. In addition, the diverse beauty of Hanoi's flowers was vividly showcased through illustrations accompanying the song "Hanoi 12 Seasons of Flowers." Each characteristic flower of the seasons, such as the bauhinia, crape myrtle, lotus, star apple, and heather, was successively depicted through images and music, allowing guests to deeply appreciate the subtle and romantic charm of Hanoi. Interspersed throughout the program were unique artistic performances by the Association of Traditional Culture and Arts, creating a vibrant and emotionally rich atmosphere. Following the exchange, guests enjoyed a lunch featuring typical Vietnamese dishes, contributing to spreading the flavors of Vietnamese cuisine to international friends. Through this program, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan continues to affirm its role as a bridge in promoting cultural diplomacy, expanding the network of local partners, and fostering friendship and strong ties between the people of Vietnam and Japan.
