Promoting Traditional Vietnamese Products at a Charity Fair in Japan
On April 22nd, the Women's Association of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan participated in a charity fair organized by the Asia-Pacific Women's Friendship Association (ALFS) in Japan, held in Tokyo. Attending the opening ceremony were Princess Takamado, wife of the Japanese Foreign Minister, wife of the Governor of Mie Prefecture, and ambassadors and their wives from Asia-Pacific countries in Japan.
This year's fair featured approximately 30 booths from embassies of Asia-Pacific countries in Japan, along with local booths and businesses. The Vietnamese booth, showcasing a diverse range of products from various regions of Vietnam, contributed to promoting traditional Vietnamese products to international friends and local people. Serving as the representative of the Embassies for the 2025-2026 term, the Women's Association of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan introduced to friends from other countries many traditional products, handicrafts, and spices used in famous Vietnamese dishes such as candied fruits, instant pho, herbal bath soap, jewelry, etc., which are specialties from localities such as Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, Can Tho, and Khanh Hoa.
All proceeds from ticket sales, raffle tickets, and sales profits will be divided equally among participating countries to contribute to charitable activities in those countries. Last year, Vietnam received 610,000 yen (approximately 3,800 USD), which was used to purchase and donate electric syringe pumps and infusion pumps to the National Children's Hospital in August 2025.
