LAUNCHING THE "SEARCH FOR VIETNAMESE LANGUAGE AMBASSADOR OVERSEAS 2026" COMPETITION

          In response to the “Launch Ceremony for the Day of Honoring the Vietnamese Language in the Overseas Vietnamese Community and the Search for Vietnamese Language Ambassador Overseas 2026 Competition” organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (SOC) in Hanoi on March 28, 2026, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan is pleased to announce the “Search for Vietnamese Language Ambassador Overseas 2026” Competition and invites Vietnamese organizations, associations, and individuals in Japan, as well as foreigners who love the Vietnamese language, to actively participate in the “Search for Vietnamese Language Ambassador Overseas 2026” Competition to contribute to spreading and preserving the Vietnamese language in the overseas Vietnamese community.

          - Time: The contest will take place from March 30th to May 8th, 2026.

          - Contest Rules: Attached.

RULES AND REGULATIONSSEARCH FOR VIETNAMESE LANGUAGE AMBASSADORS ABROAD IN 2026

I. PURPOSE AND SIGNIFICANCE

          - To contribute to the dissemination and preservation of the Vietnamese language within the Vietnamese community abroad.

- To seek and honor outstanding individuals capable of inspiring, spreading, and effectively teaching the Vietnamese language and culture abroad.

- To build a network of “Vietnamese Language Ambassadors” – a cultural and linguistic bridge between Vietnam and international friends.

II. TARGET AUDIENCE

Vietnamese citizens and foreigners living, working, or studying abroad.

III. SELECTION PROCESS

1. Application Method

          - Individuals register directly with the Vietnamese representative office in their host country or are nominated by the Vietnamese representative office.

- Applications and portfolios should be submitted as PDF/Word files or video clips.

2. Selection Criteria

          - Vietnamese language proficiency: pronunciation, language use, ability to convey emotion, expression, and public speaking.

- Knowledge of Vietnamese culture, history, and language.

          - Level of participation and practical contribution: involvement in preserving, honoring, and developing the Vietnamese language within the Vietnamese diaspora community; projects or organized Vietnamese language classes to support overseas Vietnamese youth; initiatives in teaching or developing Vietnamese language movements in their host country; previous awards in Vietnamese language competitions (literary creation, public speaking, storytelling, letter writing, singing, etc.).

3. Selection Process

(i) Application period: From March 30th to May 8th, 2026.

(ii) Application documents include:

          - Personal information (mandatory, must be fully completed): full name, date of birth, phone number, current address, passport number, nationality.

          - Report on personal activities/projects that have contributed to spreading the Vietnamese language in the Vietnamese diaspora community (evidence is encouraged).

          (iii) Review period: From May 12th to June 12th, 2026. The expert panel will score, evaluate, and select 5–8 outstanding candidates to be awarded the title of Vietnamese Language Ambassador, and simultaneously announce the Top 15 outstanding candidates.

(iv) Announcement of Results:

          - The Organizing Committee will announce the results to Vietnamese representative agencies and individual candidates no later than June 16, 2026.

          - Individuals awarded the title of Ambassador of the Vietnamese Language Abroad will be invited to attend the closing ceremony of the “Day of Honoring the Vietnamese Language in the Overseas Vietnamese Community 2026” and the “Beloved Vietnamese Language” Gala, along with the awarding ceremony of the Ambassador of the Vietnamese Language Abroad 2026 title in Hanoi.

IV. NOTES ON COPYRIGHT AND ORIGINALITY

          The content of the product must be the original work of the candidate and must not be created or assisted in creation by artificial intelligence (AI) tools. For song submissions, the lyrics of the video must be written by the candidate themselves; Candidates are responsible for providing proof of authorship when requested (manuscripts, creative materials, or equivalent forms of verification). The Organizing Committee reserves the right to request explanations from candidates and disqualify them from the selection process if violations are detected.

V. ANNOUNCEMENT OF RESULTS AND AWARDS

          For candidates awarded the title of Vietnamese Ambassador 2026:

          - Certificate from the Organizing Committee recognizing the title “Vietnamese Ambassador Abroad 2026”.

          - Congratulatory letter from the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

          - The Organizing Committee will arrange and cover the costs of meals, travel, and accommodation (2 nights) in Hanoi during the “Beloved Vietnamese Language” Gala and the Award Ceremony (excluding airfare).

          For the Top 15 outstanding candidates:

          - Congratulatory letter from the leaders of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and a commemorative medal./.
