ALFS FRIENDSHIP VISIT TO VIETNAM AND LAOS (February 24–28, 2026)

From February 24 to 28, 2026, 30 members of the Asian Pacific Women's Federation (ALFS) participated in a Friendship Visit to Vietnam and Laos, with stops in Da Nang, Hoi An, Hanoi, and Luang Prabang. The trip was initiated by Vietnam and Laos in their capacities as Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, representing the Embassy bloc during the ALFS 2025–2026 term.

Throughout the journey, the members had the opportunity to learn about the rich cultural heritage, explore unique landscapes, and experience the traditional beauty of both countries. In Vietnam, the delegation enjoyed many typical dishes reflecting the unique culinary traditions of different regions, such as pho, banh mi, banh day, Quang noodles, cao lau, Southern fish soup, and Hanoi bun thang.

During the program in Hanoi, the delegation visited Xa Dan School for the hearing impaired. The members were deeply moved to receive a painting drawn by a hearing-impaired student, as a token of gratitude for the charitable gift ALFS donated in 2024. The delegation also had the opportunity to meet the wives of former Vietnamese Ambassadors to Japan – active members of ALFS – thus demonstrating the enduring friendship and solidarity across generations.

Though the four days were short, they left many profound memories, filled with affection and sharing. We are delighted that all members returned safely and believe that the visit contributed to further enhancing mutual understanding, while strengthening solidarity and friendship between nations.
