Japan's ruling party sends letter wishing the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam great success

The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam continues to be a focal point attracting special attention from Japanese political circles and parties, with best wishes, high praise, and specific expectations.

In a letter sent on January 13, 2026, the leader of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) extended his warmest congratulations to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The LDP expects that under the leadership of the newly elected Executive Committee at the Congress, the Communist Party of Vietnam will make even greater contributions to the country's reform and development, and achieve remarkable progress in the new era.

Furthermore, the LDP also believes that continued close cooperation between the two parties is extremely important, contributing to enhanced coordination in many areas such as security, economics, culture, and people-to-people exchanges, based on the framework of the "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World" between Japan and Vietnam.

The letter also stated, “In the future, as irreplaceable partners, let us join hands to further promote the development of both countries and parties, as well as strengthen exchanges between people of all walks of life in all fields.”

Also today, the Constitutional Democratic Party (CDP) – Japan's largest opposition party – sent a congratulatory letter to the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, emphasizing its desire to continue developing relations with the Communist Party of Vietnam, towards peace and prosperity in the region.

According to observers, the attention and interest shown by Japanese politicians and political parties in the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is not merely a diplomatic practice, but also reflects genuine goodwill and respect for the Communist Party of Vietnam in particular and Vietnam in general. This also demonstrates the continuously increasing role and position of Vietnam in Japan's diplomatic strategy and provides a solid foundation for the substantive development of bilateral relations in the future./.
