Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu works with Japanese Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki

On December 2, 2025, at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu had a working session with Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama.

At the meeting, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu highly appreciated the role and contributions of the Japanese Ministry of Finance in promoting economic and financial cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of ODA, financial and budgetary reform, capital markets and high-quality infrastructure development.

Minister Katayama expressed her pleasure to visit the Embassy in her new position, and emphasized her deep attachment to Vietnam since she joined the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance, actively promoting parliamentary exchanges, economic cooperation and connecting the people of the two countries.

The Minister affirmed that Japan will continue to accompany Vietnam in priority areas such as digital transformation, sustainable development, public finance reform and strengthening financial market capacity.

The two sides agreed to continue to coordinate closely in the coming time to develop the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more substantial and effective manner.
