Japanese professor appointed Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Nagoya

 

On October 10, in Tokyo, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan solemnly held a ceremony to present the decision to appoint Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Nagoya city, Aichi prefecture.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam in Japan Pham Quang Hieu presented the decision and presented flowers to congratulate Prof. Dr. Nagato Natsume.

According to a VNA reporter in Tokyo, the decision to appoint Honorary Consul of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Nagoya city, Aichi prefecture, with the consular area covering the entire Aichi prefecture, is valid for 3 years. This decision was presented to Professor, Dr. Natsume Nagato by Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu emphasized: “With the appointment for a new term, we hope that with his boundless love for Vietnam, he will continue to perform well the functions of an Honorary Consul. Accordingly, promoting the multifaceted relationship between Aichi and Vietnam, supporting citizen protection work, and connecting the community”.

Prof. Dr. Nagato Natsume shared after receiving the reappointment decision.

For his part, Mr. Natsume expressed pride in Vietnam's trust and pledged to continue making efforts for the development of Vietnam - Japan relations. Mr. Natsume shared: "Currently, Vietnam is developing strongly like a dragon flying up". He affirmed that he will make every effort to contribute to the people and Government of Vietnam, as well as continue to make efforts for the peace and happiness of the Vietnamese community in Aichi, which is growing day by day.

Mr. Natsume is a Professor at Aichigakuin University and was appointed Honorary Consul of Vietnam in 2017. For his positive contributions to Vietnam-Japan relations, he was honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal from the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in April 2016.
