Ambassador Phạm Quang Hiệu holds Meeting with Mr. Onodera Itsunori, Member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Policy Research Council of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party

On June 24, 2025, at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Vietnam’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Japan, Phạm Quang Hiệu, held a meeting with Mr. Onodera Itsunori, Member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Policy Research Council of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party.

Mr. Onodera expressed his delight in visiting the Embassy, recalling fond memories from his previous visit to Vietnam and his deep affection for the country and its people. He expressed his desire to revisit Vietnam at the earliest opportunity and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting and promoting relations between the Liberal Democratic Party and the Communist Party of Vietnam, as well as the broader bilateral relationship. He agreed to continue close coordination to effectively implement the agreements reached by the high-level leaders of both countries, particularly in new strategic cooperation areas such as semiconductors, AI, digital transformation, green transition, and new energy.

Ambassador Phạm Quang Hiệu warmly congratulated Mr. Onodera on his appointment to this important position, thanked him for his kind sentiments, and extended a cordial invitation for him to revisit Vietnam soon. The Ambassador expressed his desire for both countries to enhance cooperation based on the highly complementary nature of their economies, diversify markets and supply chains, and voiced confidence that the bilateral relationship would continue to develop robustly in the near future.

Both sides also discussed international and regional issues of mutual interest.
