Mrs. Thai Thu Hong, wife of the Ambassador, and Mrs. Nakasone Mariko, President of ALFS, co-chaired the 5th Regular Meeting

for the 2025-2026 term

          On May 13, 2026, at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Mrs. Thai Thu Hong, wife of the Ambassador and representative of the Asian Pacific Women's Federation (ALFS) from various embassies, and Mrs. Nakasone Mariko, President of ALFS, co-chaired the 5th Regular Meeting for the 2025-2026 term. Approximately 50 guests attended, including Japanese leaders of ALFS, the Ambassador's wife, and representatives from the embassies of member countries in Japan.

          At the meeting, Mrs. Thai Thu Hong discussed the concluding work of the ALFS Charity Fair 2026, which will be held on April 22, 2026, at Meiji Kinenkan. This year's fair was attended by Princess Takamado and the wife of the Japanese Foreign Minister, attracting over 2,000 visitors and receiving a positive response from the international community as well as the Japanese people.

          Delegates exchanged views and evaluated the results of the fair's organization, shared experiences in coordinating between member embassies and the Japanese side, and discussed plans for future activities of the ALFS Association to further promote cultural exchange, strengthen solidarity and international cooperation.

          On this occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy organized a program introducing Vietnamese tea culture with the participation of tea master Nguyen Ha Thuy – a Vietnamese person currently living and working in Nagano Prefecture. Through her refined presentation and sharing, guests had the opportunity to learn more about the art of tea appreciation, the beauty of Vietnamese culture, and the philosophy of life associated with tea in Vietnamese people.

 In a setting steeped in Vietnamese cultural identity, guests enjoyed a variety of traditional teas such as lotus tea, cinnamon tea, soursop tea, perilla tea, etc., along with traditional Vietnamese cakes, preserved fruits, and signature Vietnamese desserts. The elegant and refined flavors of Vietnamese tea and cuisine left a positive impression on the attendees.

 

          Many guests expressed their fondness for Vietnamese tea culture, appreciated the meticulous preparation by the Vietnamese Embassy, ​​and praised the significance of this exchange program. The event further contributes to promoting the image of Vietnam, its culture, and its people to international friends, while strengthening people-to-people exchanges and fostering the diplomatic community in Japan.
