Embassy of Vietnam in Japan attends exchange event with over 200 Vietnamese interns and workers in Tokyo

At the invitation of Sumitomo Fudosan Group, Mr. Nguyen Sau, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan, attended an annual exchange event for Vietnamese interns and workers organized by the group on July 14, 2026. The event was attended by representatives from the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, sending agencies, and receiving companies, alongside more than 200 Vietnamese interns and workers employed within Sumitomo Fudosan’s Villa Fontaine hotel chain.

Speaking at the event, Minister-Counsellor Nguyen Sau shared heartfelt words of encouragement with the Vietnamese interns. He urged them to persevere, proactively overcome challenges, strictly adhere to Japanese laws and workplace regulations, and focus on enhancing their professional skills and Japanese language proficiency. These elements form the core foundation for workers to seize expanding career opportunities, particularly as Japan makes positive adjustments to its policies regarding the intake of foreign labor.

The Embassy representative acknowledged and expressed sincere appreciation for the effective cooperation of Sumitomo Fudosan Group. Since 2019, the group has welcomed nearly 800 Vietnamese interns, not only fostering a safe and professional work environment but also actively supporting the workers' long-term development and collaborating closely with the Embassy on various meaningful community activities.

Amid the warm atmosphere of the gathering, vibrant dance performances rich in Vietnamese cultural identity—presented by the interns themselves—evoked a strong sense of pride. These spirited performances not only fostered connection and excitement among attendees but also provided a morale boost, empowering workers to feel more confident and steadfast in their professional journeys and personal growth in the “Land of Cherry Blossoms”.
