The delegation led by the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan and the Vietnamese intellectual and expert community in the fields of science, technology, and innovation

          As part of their visit and working trip to Japan, on the afternoon of April 27, 2026 (local time), the delegation of the Hanoi People's Committee, led by Mr. Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, and also met and held dialogues with the Vietnamese intellectual and expert community in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.

          At the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan, Pham Quang Hieu, emphasized that this visit by the Hanoi city leaders is of special significance as the amended Capital City Law has just been passed, opening up many breakthrough mechanisms for the development of science, technology, and innovation.

          After listening to a summary report on the situation and direction of science and technology deployment and digital transformation in Hanoi, representatives of young Vietnamese experts and scientists in Japan contributed and proposed many practical solutions for Hanoi to realize the above goals and vision, contributing to economic development and people's lives, such as building a centralized medical data system, applying artificial intelligence in medical examination and treatment, researching quantum encryption technology to ensure data security, developing a "sandbox" model for testing new technologies, and connecting a network of international experts and scientists with Hanoi.

          Speaking at the dialogue, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang affirmed that science and technology, innovation and digital transformation have become the core driving force determining the development position of the Capital city; He also emphasized the role of high-quality human resources, including the Vietnamese intellectual community abroad, especially in Japan, as a strategic resource. The city always welcomes young Vietnamese scientists to return to work and provides favorable and flexible support mechanisms, including remote work, to create an environment for development and to receive practical contributions and opinions for Hanoi, focusing on key areas such as artificial intelligence, data science, biomedical science, urban technology, and digital transformation.

 

          Comrade Vu Dai Thang stated that Hanoi also highly appreciates and is ready to cooperate with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in promoting the activities of the V-S.T.I.D. Intellectual Connection Platform.
