ASEAN Family Day 2026 in Tokyo celebrates unity and friendship on the path to shared progress

On October 10, 2026, ASEAN Family Day 2026 (ACT Family Day 2026) was held at Yumenoshima Park in Tokyo, bringing together staff and families from the embassies of all 11 ASEAN member states, along with representatives of the ASEAN-Japan Centre. Ambassador of Viet Nam to Japan Pham Quang Hieu and his spouse joined nearly 80 Embassy staff and their family members at the event, contributing to the lively and festive atmosphere.

Held annually by the ASEAN Committee in Tokyo (ACT), the event offers diplomats and their families an opportunity to connect beyond their day-to-day work. Archery, tug-of-war, three-legged relay races, and a ping-pong spoon race for children filled the day with cheers and laughter. Through teamwork, encouragement, and mutual support, participants strengthened the bonds of trust and solidarity that unite the ASEAN community.

More than just a day of fun, the gathering highlighted the importance of family ties and personal connections in bringing people closer together. Despite their diverse cultures and traditions, ASEAN member states share common values of friendship, cooperation, mutual respect, and mutual support.

Beyond the friendly competitions, the event celebrated the shared values of family, friendship, cooperation, mutual respect, and support that bring ASEAN members together despite their diverse cultures and traditions. As ACT Family Day 2026 drew to a close, it left behind cherished memories and a renewed sense of community. From the warmth of family bonds to the solidarity among nations, the ASEAN spirit transcends borders, taking root and flourishing in the heart of Japan, where friendships grow and a shared vision of peace and prosperity comes to life./.
