Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu works with Chairman of Aeon Entertainment

On April 8, 2025, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Pham Quang Hieu, had a meeting with Mr. Nobuyuki Fujiwara, Chairman of Aeon Entertainment.. 

At the meeting, Mr. Fujiwara officially announced that Aeon Entertainment and Beta Media JSC had signed a joint venture agreement in Vietnam. This is an important step in Aeon Entertainment's international expansion strategy, with plans to open the first cinema in Vietnam in 2025. In particular, Aeon Entertainment plans to invest up to 35 billion yen in the Vietnamese market from now until 2035.

Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu sent his warm congratulations to Aeon Entertainment on these strong steps, and expressed his joy at the cooperation between Vietnamese and Japanese partners in the film industry. The Ambassador affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan is always ready to accompany cultural exchange activities between the two countries. The Ambassador hopes that Aeon Entertainment will actively promote exchange activities in the film and entertainment industries of the two countries, and support Vietnamese artist groups in cooperating with Japanese partners. He also hopes that in the near future, Japan will organize a Vietnam Film Week in Japan, thereby further enhancing understanding and cultural connection between Vietnam and Japan.
