Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu meets with Japanese Finance Minister Katayama Satsuki

On December 2, 2025, at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu held a working meeting with Japanese Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama.

At the meeting, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu highly appreciated the role and contributions of the Japanese Ministry of Finance in promoting economic-financial cooperation between the two countries, especially in areas such as ODA, financial-budgetary reform, capital markets, and high-quality infrastructure development.

Minister Katayama expressed her delight in visiting the Embassy in her new capacity, while emphasizing her deep affection for Vietnam since joining the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance, where she actively promoted parliamentary exchanges, economic cooperation, and people-to-people connections between the two nations.

The Minister affirmed that Japan will continue to accompany Vietnam in priority areas such as digital transformation, sustainable development, public financial reform, and strengthening financial market capacity.

Both sides agreed to continue close coordination in the coming period to bring the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to increasingly substantive and effective development.
