Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu Attends and Cuts Ribbon at the Inauguration Ceremony of the First Vietnamese Temple in Tokyo, Japan

           On May 31st, the inauguration ceremony of Dai An Temple in Tokyo, the first Vietnamese temple in the capital city of Tokyo, took place in Japan. The event was attended by the Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan, Pham Quang Hieu; representatives of the Adachi district government; Venerable Thich Tam Tri, abbess of Dai An Temple; along with Vietnamese and Japanese monks and nuns, and a large number of Vietnamese and Japanese Buddhists and citizens.

          Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu emphasized that the establishment of the temple not only meets the growing religious and spiritual needs of the Vietnamese diaspora but also contributes to preserving national cultural identity and spreading the beautiful humanistic values ​​of Vietnamese Buddhism to international friends. The Ambassador expressed confidence that Dai An Pagoda would become a spiritual anchor, a place to unite the Vietnamese community, and a bridge of friendship, enhancing understanding and cultural exchange between the people of Vietnam and Japan.

          Representing Dai An Pagoda, Venerable Thich Tam Tri, the abbess, expressed gratitude for the attention and support of Vietnamese and Japanese authorities, as well as the contributions of numerous Buddhists and overseas Vietnamese in the construction of the pagoda. She affirmed that Dai An Pagoda will always welcome everyone, not only as a place for religious study and activities but also as a space for preserving the Vietnamese language, traditional culture, and positive moral values ​​for the younger generation of Vietnamese in Japan.

          Representatives of the Japanese local government highly appreciated the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community to the local development and considered the establishment of Dai An Pagoda as evidence of the increasingly deep integration of Vietnamese people in Japan. Local authorities expressed their hope that the temple would become a cultural exchange hub, fostering closer ties between the people of the two countries and contributing to the building of a united, harmonious, and thriving multicultural community.

          With these meanings, Dai An Temple in Tokyo is expected to become a warm spiritual home for the Vietnamese community in Japan, and a vibrant symbol of friendship, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connections between Vietnam and Japan right in the capital city of Tokyo.
