Vietnamese Community in Japan

On the afternoon of July 22, during his working visit to Japan, Mr. Hoang Cong Thuy, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, met with the Vietnamese community in Tokyo.

During the meeting with the Vietnam Fatherland Front leadership, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu—representing the community—reported on key activities, notable achievements, and the sentiments and aspirations of the Vietnamese community. He emphasized the community's enduring attachment to the homeland and outlined the challenges they face, along with potential solutions. Representatives from various associations also shared their views and offered specific proposals to further enhance the effectiveness of their activities in the future. The Vietnamese community in Japan pledged to remain united, support one another, and contribute actively to the development of both Vietnam and Japan, as well as to the further strengthening of bilateral friendship and cooperation. Speaking at the meeting, Hoang Cong Thuy, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, provided a brief update on the domestic situation and outlined the action plan of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front regarding people-to-people diplomacy and affairs concerning overseas Vietnamese. This plan comprises four key areas: First, organizing activities and events to connect the overseas Vietnamese community in order to mobilize knowledge, technology, investment resources, and international cooperation opportunities for national development. Second, creating favorable conditions for intellectuals and expatriates to participate in policy consultation, social feedback, knowledge and technology transfer, and support for domestic human resource training. Third, fostering great national unity among overseas Vietnamese. Fourth, enhancing the recognition, commendation, and promotion of outstanding examples within the overseas Vietnamese community.

Vice President Hoang Cong Thuy also emphasized policies aimed at providing the necessary, appropriate, and concrete support to ensure the continued development of the Vietnamese community in Japan—and overseas communities in general—in the future. These guidelines and policies have further strengthened the confidence of the Vietnamese community in Japan.
