Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised the role played by envoy of the Japan Embassy Katsuro Nagai in promoting Vietnam – Japan cooperation at a reception in Hanoi on November 5.
Over recent years, Vietnam-Japan relations have grown steadily along with extensive and substantive cooperation across a major variety of fields and increasingly strengthened political trust, thus providing a firmer foundation for mutually beneficial affiliation, Phuc told his guest.
He affirmed Vietnam’s recognition of high importance on relations with Japan while asking the Japanese side to create favorable conditions for their businesses to intensify investments in Vietnam thereby turning Japan into a top major investor in the Southeast Asian nation.
The cabinet leader also suggested the two governments give the best possible assistance to both nations' localities, helping them share information for broader cooperation in the future.
Regarding education, PM Phuc proposed facilitating Vietnam- Japan University’s operations to make greater contributions to the training of human resources in Vietnam and to become a leading training centre in the region.
PM Phuc said he hopes Mr Nagai Katsuro will continue to help the Japan Embassy work closely with Vietnamese relevant agencies to make thorough preparations for a successful visit to Vietnam by the Japanese Emperor and Empress as a contribution to further strengthening bilateral ties, peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
The Japanese envoy, in turn pledged his best efforts to reinforce bilateral ties, especially in economics through specific cooperation projects aiming to spur Vietnam’s socio-economic development, adding that he will work hand in hand with Vietnam to make the first visit by the Japanese Emperor and Empress a great success.
